The Concept of the Megastructure New Typologies 1, 2 & The Concept of the Megastructure New Typologies 88 palletes 1, 2.
Site-specific sculptural installation, reflecting upon the strategy of “make-up”, that plays with the idea of architectural mock-up prototype and suburban typology, inspired by the facades of apartment blocks in the neighbourhood Hjortespring where Gammelgård is located.
Make-up is seen here as a tool for retouching, repairing, covering, and shaping the body. – this body can be abstractly seen as a city structure, its architecture, or even its urban society. A structure that indicates ambiguity, carrying the looks one must have to fit in the norms of society, at the same time it is af tool for reinforcement, for political means” and a method of protest.
The sculptures facade are composed and assembled by reliefs in concrete from both used and unused makeup. The reliefs are grouped and installed side by side, forming a frontal perspective,- relating the makeup palette’s colour, grid and layout to the typology of the apartment blocks. The makeup that are used daily as a retouching tool is transformed into a colourful scenario of materials.
The installation relates to the social development and the transformation the suburb Herlev has undergone from the early 1970s to the present day. In the 70s, the landscape around Gammelgård consisted of fields and farms. Today, the area consists mainly of Social housing, in the form of multi-storey apartment blocks and terraced houses.

The Concept of the Megastructure New Typologies 1, 2 & The Concept of the Megastructure New Typologies 88 palletes 1, 2.
Stedspecifik installation skabt I relation til udstillingens tema Forstad og som forholder sig til samfundsudviklingen og den forvandling forstaden Herlev har gennemgået fra begyndelsen af 70érne, til i dag. Landskabet omkring Gammelgård bestod dengang af marker og gårde. I dag består området hovedsageligt af almennyttige boliger, i form af etageboliger og rækkehuse.
Værker, mockup skulptur på gulv og væg er sammensatte af relieffer i beton fra brugt og ubrugt makeup og de er inspireret af facaderne på på etagebyggeri fra kvarteret Hjortespring hvor Gammelgård er beliggende. Værkerne indgår i udstillingen som arkitektonisk møblement, mock-up og forstadstypologi.
Med betonreliefferne undersøger Hymøller relationen af øjenskyggepalettens farve og grid, som hun sammenligner med farve kombinationen, inddelingen og typologien på etageboligerne omkring Gammelgaard. Makeup-pen som til dagligt bruges som et retouchering redskab bliver forvandlet til et farverigt scenarie af materialer.
